Welcome to Class 4!

Class 4.

In Class 4 there are 14 Year 5 children and 12 Year 6 children.

Our class teacher is Miss
Houseman and our ATA is Mrs Wright who works with us on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Crazy hair!

In Science we have explored electricity and circuits. We had the opportunity to use a vandergraph generator, which made our hair stand on end.

We also made circuits to switch on a light bulb and to operate a buzzer.

Will it work?
Acting.

In Literacy we wrote biographies on some famous people including Florence Nightingale and Issac Newton. We had a great time performing part of our biographies back to the rest of the class.

In History we spent time researching the lives of Spartan men, women and children.

Working together...
Making a large soldier!

We had a lot of fun designing large images of Spartan soldiers and women to display the information that we found out.

The whole of class 4 took part in an indoor athletics tournament at Norton College. We won two events the bean bag throw and the ladder race.

High Five!!
Fun in the snow!

We had a lovely time playing in the snow. We built snowmen, igloos and snow forts.

In RE we created a hot seat carousel to explore the feelings that we have when we experience a new beginning.

Sometimes we feel excited!

We also discovered that we feel nervous and anxious in a new situation.

In Literacy we have designed our own theme parks and are using these as a stimulus for our persuasive writing.

We have also explored the persuasive devices used in adverts and leaflets to encourage us to buy products.

In history we were set a challenge to find an artefact from the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s or 80’s.

We had lots of fun sharing the artefacts that we had found.

Some children from Class 4 represented the school at a high five netball tournament. Team B came third and Team A won and went through to the final at Whitby....and won!!
