Welcome to Class 4!

We are class 4. We have 15 year six children and 15 year fives. We are lucky to have Mrs Wright and Mrs Bills working with us.

In maths we can learn through playing games. We found it easy to remember about area and perimeter by playing this game.

Year 6 children took time out to visit Scarborough hospital and do the IMPS training.

KS2 worked together to learn about other Faiths. We looked at the Jewish Faith.

We created Travel brochures, posters, Holiday cards.

In our Creative curriculum we are looking at Slavery. We have listed to music sung by the slaves. We will be visiting the Wilberforce Museum in Hull.

In class 4 we have the responsibility of looking after the library.
We take this responsibility very seriously!

Year 6 children are voted onto the school council by their peers. They meet with their groups, once a term, and discuss any issues.

In science we look at different topics. We created our own games when learning about circuits.

We enjoyed playing with each other’s games.

KS2 performed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The children had a week and two days.

Both performances were sold out!

We really enjoyed creating our vegetable plot. So far we have harvested beetroot, carrots, squash and tomatoes.

School council are elected by the pupils.  The pupils prepared their speeches and after speeches a vote was taken. These children are looking forward to leading each year group in making new proposals for school!!!

We work in Maths groups and give support to each other when needed.

We can work on the laptops researching facts for our Medieval topic.

We use books from the library for our research and have a selection of artefacts we can work with.

We are studying different authors in literacy. We were very lucky to have Christine Butler come in to our class and discuss her work with us. She explained how she started writing and how she went about getting published

The visit from the author inspired us to create our own characters for a story. We chose to create hedgehog figures for our main character. We look forward to sharing our own stories.
