Welcome to The Safari Set |
Welcome to The Safari Set where Foundation Stage and Key Stage One work as a unit. |

We regularly walk to Castle Gardens to find out how the gardens are changing throughout the seasons. In this picture we are measuring a tree. Our challenge was to find the tree with the biggest trunk! |
Our music making is legendary! We composed a piece of music and performed it to the rest of the class with a conductor. |
Dazzling designers! Olivia planned and made her own handbag. Vivienne Westwood eat your heart out! |
We looked after Mrs Davenport’s dog one morning. We learnt about all of the responsibilities you have as a dog owner and how you should never approach a dog that you don’t know. |
Do you like our Den? We had a picnic in it during the autumn term. |
Our outdoor suits mean that we can use our outdoor classroom in all weathers. We had lots of fun digging in the rain! |
We have been trying really hard with our story writing. Our new table makes it easier for Mrs Bills to help us! |
Our topic is 'Magical me'. With the help of Mrs Burnett, we have made our own Paediatrics Ward! |
We love pretending to be nurses! |
We have been learning all about our bodies. We all made skeleton pictures using art straws.Look how fantastic they are!
We are learning to re-tell stories in chronological order. Some children even like to add music to make the story interesting! |
One busy morning, we all worked together to create our wonderful traditional tale display. Do you recognise any of the characters?
We love using our new notebooks that the PTA kindly bought us! They are the perfect size for our little fingers. |
We are learning about full and empty, and which container holds the most. We had to pour the water in very carefully. |
We made a sandwich using our instructions; we chose our own filling too!
In numeracy we programmed bee bots to follow a route we had made to help us with our directions. |

We have a great workshop area in class, where we can paint and make models. Our Art Gallery allows us to display our work for everyone to see. |
We had a great idea on a windy day, we made kites! There were lots of different shapes and sizes, Mrs Davenport was very impressed! |

During our Windy Week, we decided to have a balloon race. We each had a attached a label to a balloon with our name and address on. I wonder which balloon will travel the furthest? |
Our outdoor classroom allows us the freedom to learn in the natural environment. Our outdoor suits mean we can go out no matter what the weather is like! |
For our dinosaur topic we used non-fiction books to find out about dinosaurs. Some children made their own books using pictures from the internet. |
A helicopter from the Royal Navy landed on St Mary’s school field! |
In every lesson we always help each other. |
We jog around the playground to compare about how our bodies feel before and after we have exercised |
.
