Reading

During the School closure, it is vital that your child maintains their reading. Getting the most out of reading can be at times tricky; below are some useful resources that may help at home:

Your child will be bringing home a comprehension book to enable them to maintain their comprehension skills; it would really help if you could encourage them to do one or two a week. To really get the most out of these books, it would be great if an adult could go through their answers with them and discuss any possible misconceptions.

Below you will find ‘print out and cut out’ bookmarks that provide guidance and sample questions that you can use when reading with your child. Use these to extend your child’s comprehension skills and deepen understanding.
