School Lunches

Our cook Mrs Milner takes great pride in her cooking and produce lovely meals for the children.

Our menu works on a three-week cycle to make sure there is variety and choice. Below is our current menu. Sometimes slight amendments need to be made to the menu but parents will be notified of this change via the newsletter or a text.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school lunches, which they can choose on a daily basis. For children in other years, the cost for school dinners is £2.40 per day. Parent pay is used to pay for all schools meals.

Packed Lunches

As an alternative to school meals children may bring a packed lunch. This should be brought in a firmly closed box, bearing the child’s name. Insulated lunch boxes are recommended to keep food safe and fresh. Drinks must be brought in plastic or cardboard containers. For safety reasons, canned drinks and glass containers are not allowed.

If your child forgets his or her packed lunch we will try and contact you. If we are unable to do so we will supply a school lunch for which you will be required to pay.

Milk

Every child under the age of five is entitled to a free 189ml serving of milk. Older children can pay weekly for a daily serving of milk. Please visit the Cool Milk website to register your child for their milk (regardless of age)

Free School Meals

Free school meals are available to children whose parents are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

  • income support
  • income-based job seeker's allowance
  • income-related employment and support allowance
  • child tax credit with an income of less than £16,190 and not in receipt of working tax credit
  • support under part VI of the immigration and asylum act 1999
  • guarantee element of state pension credit.

Where parents are entitled to working tax credit during a four week "run on" period immediately after their employment has ceased, or after they have started to work less than 16 hours per week, their children are entitled to free school meals.

Children who receive income support or income based jobseeker's allowance in their own right are also entitled to free school meals.

Should you meet the above criteria, you can apply by using the application form below.

Applications are usually processed the same day. If your child is entitled to free school meals you will receive a letter confirming the date when the meals will start. The school is also notified that your child is entitled to free school meals. In the meantime, you should continue to pay for free school meals until confirmation comes through. If you are not entitled to free school meals you will be notified in writing
